For all of 2021 the figure was $1.55 billion, experts noted.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/web3-ecosystem-losses-from-exploits-year-to-date-near-3-billion\">October was the record month for losses from exploits \u2014 $760.2 million<\/a>. Then the majority of the figure came from <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bnb-chain-team-restores-network-after-100-million-hack\">the breach of the BSC Token Hub bridge<\/a> on the BNB Chain network, worth $586 million.<\/p>\n<p>In November, a significant portion of losses from hacks was due to the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ftx-group-files-for-bankruptcy-sam-bankman-fried-resigns-as-ceo\">bankrupt exchange FTX<\/a>. An unknown actor withdrew <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/unknown-actors-moved-more-than-400-million-from-ftx-wallets\">digital assets worth about $340 million<\/a>, experts noted. Bitcoin (25.4%) and Ethereum (68%) accounted for the majority.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/deribit-crypto-derivatives-exchange-hacked-for-28-million\">The Deribit breach<\/a> at the start of the month led to losses of $28 million.<\/p>\n<p>PeckShield experts also suggested that the collapse of FTX would spur a reallocation of exchange flows toward decentralised platforms.
