{"id":70480,"date":"2022-11-23T12:29:24","date_gmt":"2022-11-23T10:29:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=70480"},"modified":"2025-09-08T02:31:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-07T23:31:39","slug":"el-salvador-to-study-regulation-of-issuing-digital-assets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/el-salvador-to-study-regulation-of-issuing-digital-assets\/","title":{"rendered":"El Salvador to study regulation of issuing digital assets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El Salvador&#8217;s authorities have begun reviewing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asamblea.gob.sv\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/correspondencia\/4CCA02DF-7C4F-4B25-9725-821EB3618A5D.pdf\">the bill<\/a>, aimed at bringing order to the legal framework governing interactions with providers and issuers of virtual asset services.<\/p>\n<p>The regulation covers operations not only with Bitcoin but also with other cryptocurrencies. It also touches on tax policy and provides a legal definition of <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-are-stablecoins\">stablecoins<\/a> and tokens.<\/p>\n<p>The bill is currently being studied by the Economic Committee of the Legislative Assembly, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/189427\/el-salvador-lawmakers-to-consider-regulation-for-issuing-digital-assets\">The Block<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The document envisages creating a registry of companies \u2014 they will be subject to a registration procedure and must provide a list of assets. Issuers will have to comply with a number of rules, including disclosure of the jurisdictions in which they operate.<\/p>\n<p>Oversight of registration and operations will be entrusted to the national commission.
