He also spoke of a difficult family situation.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAfter the incredible success that began in February 2020, I have decided to leave my current role as Coinbase&#8217;s chief product officer,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Chatterjee added that he will continue to work with the exchange as an advisor to CEO Brian Armstrong.<\/p>\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/ix?doc=\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1679788\/000167978822000110\/coin-20221028.htm\">documents<\/a> for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission dated October 28, it states that in connection with the departure of the top executive, Coinbase&#8217;s product, engineering and design teams \u201cwill be reorganized within the product-group structure\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, news emerged of several major departures in crypto-related firms. In October, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/alexander-heptner-steps-down-as-bitmex-chief-executive\">Alexander Heptner<\/a> left as BitMEX platform CEO, and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/brett-harrison-resigns-as-president-of-ftx-us\">Brett Harrison<\/a> left from the role of president of FTX US.<\/p>\n<p>In September, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/alex-mashinsky-resigns-as-celsius-network-chief-executive\">Alex Mashinsky<\/a> stepped down as CEO of the Celsius Network, the crypto-lending platform.<\/p>\n<p>In the summer, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/compass-mining-ceo-and-cfo-resign\">they submitted<\/a> their resignations as CEO of Compass Mining Whit Gibbs and CFO Jodi Fisher.<\/p>\n<p>In June Coinbase <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-to-cut-about-18-of-its-staff\">announced a staff cut<\/a> of about 18% amid the crypto winter.<\/p>\n<p>According to the third-quarter report, the net loss of the U.S.-based bitcoin exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-nearly-halves-losses-in-q3\">amounted to $545 million<\/a>, compared with $1.1 billion in the previous period.
