Earlier, media reports said that by that date Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bloomberg-elon-musk-to-close-twitter-acquisition-by-october-28\">promised to complete the purchase<\/a> of the social network for representatives of the banks involved and the co-investors.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"twitter-tweet\\\" data-lang=\\\"en\\\">\n<p lang=\\\"en\\\" dir=\\\"ltr\\\">Posted on the NYSE&#8217;s website \u2014 Twitter shares <a href=\\\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24TWTR&#038;src=ctag&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\\\">$TWTR<\/a> to be suspended on Friday (deadline for Musk to acquire the company). Data: TradingView.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In early April, Musk became Twitter&#8217;s largest shareholder after <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-acquires-9-2-stake-in-twitter\">acquiring 9.2% of shares for $2.89 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On April 14, he <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-proposes-over-43-billion-to-buy-twitter\">proposed to buy the social network for more than $43 billion<\/a>, but the company&#8217;s leadership <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/twitter-board-adopts-poison-pill-plan-to-defend-against-elon-musks-takeover\">reacted negatively<\/a>. Later, the board <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/media-twitter-revisits-elon-musks-takeover-bid\">reconsidered<\/a> its stance, approving a deal <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-to-buy-twitter-for-44-billion-as-dogecoin-jumps-24\">at $44 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In May, the billionaire indicated in a filing with the <span data-descr=\\\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">SEC<\/span> that the crypto exchange Binance <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-backs-elon-musk-with-500-million-for-twitter-takeover\">provided him $500 million<\/a> to buy Twitter. On Oct. 25, the platform&#8217;s chief Changpeng Zhao <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-10-25\/binance-ceo-says-he-thinks-he-ll-stick-with-musk-in-twitter-bid\\\">confirmed<\/a> his intention to finance the deal.<\/p>\n<p>On May 13, the Tesla chief announced the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-halts-twitter-acquisition\">suspension of the Twitter purchase<\/a> after reports that the platform&#8217;s audience metrics were inflated. He also <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-accuses-twitters-algorithms-of-manipulating-users\">accused the platform&#8217;s algorithms<\/a> of manipulating users.<\/p>\n<p>Twitter shareholders <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/twitter-shareholders-sue-elon-musk-over-market-manipulation\">filed suit against Musk<\/a> over the \u201cchaotic process\u201d of the takeover. In July, the businessman <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/07\/29\/elon-musk-countersues-twitter-over-merger-filing-confidential.html\\\">filed a countersuit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On Oct. 4, it emerged that the entrepreneur <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bloomberg-reports-elon-musk-to-proceed-with-twitter-acquisition\">would restart the takeover<\/a> of the social network on the original terms\u2014$54.2 per share.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the court <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/court-delays-twitter-case-against-musk-to-finalise-takeover\">granted Musk&#8217;s motion for a stay of proceedings<\/a> in the Twitter suit.
