FTX chief Sam Bankman-Fried, in an interview at the DC Fintech Week conference, spoke about a possible move of the bitcoin exchange’s headquarters from the Bahamas to the United States. MarketWatch reports.<\/p>\n
According to him, the company would consider such a possibility after registering with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).<\/p>\n
\n“I think that if we could get [SEC approval], we would feel more confident moving forward as an American company,” Bankman-Fried said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
If successful in its dealings with the Commission, up to 75% of the trading platform’s staff would relocate to the United States.<\/p>\n
Bankman-Fried also said his company is working with the CFTC<\/span> and other regulators and policymakers to obtain an American license.<\/p>\n
In late September, FTX US president Brett Harrison announced his resignation<\/a> after almost a year and a half with the company.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the cryptocurrency exchange announced<\/a> a phased rollout of a Visa debit card in more than 40 countries across Latin America, Europe and Asia.<\/p>\n
In October, Bankman-Fried said that on November 21 FTX will be updated to version 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n
