He has led the platform since its founding in 2011 and remains its largest shareholder.<\/p>\n<p>In a conversation with Fortune, Powell explained that his departure as CEO was driven by a desire to devote more time to product work and \u201cprotecting the interests of the industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the company interviewed \u201cmore than a dozen\u201d candidates and settled on Ripley. He will assume the role once Kraken hires someone to fill the chief operating officer position.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in June 2022, Powell was accused of <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/kraken-ceo-accused-of-imposing-toxic-corporate-culture\">imposing a toxic corporate culture<\/a>.
