The funds will be used to compensate victims of cryptocurrency fraud, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/oglobo.globo.com\/rio\/noticia\/2022\/09\/com-mais-de-122-mil-investidores-para-pagar-farao-dos-bitcois-tem-72-horas-para-depositar-r-19-bilhoes-na-justica.ghtml\">O Globo<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling was handed down on September 19. Santos was given 72 hours to comply.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2021 the founder of GAS Consultoria <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/brazilian-police-seize-28-7-million-in-cryptocurrency-in-kryptos-operation\">arrested<\/a> in the course of Operation Kryptos, linked to an alleged pyramid scheme.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, police seized cryptocurrency worth 150 million reais (~$28.7 million), $3.6 million in cash, 21 premium cars and various jewellery.<\/p>\n<p>The report said more than 122,000 investors were harmed by the fraudsters&#8217; actions.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities also charged Santos with serious crimes, including murder.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Brazilian Federal Police <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/brazilian-police-arrest-local-bitcoin-king-on-300-million-fraud-charges\">liquidated<\/a> Bitcoin Banco Group, whose actions harmed more than 7,000 citizens and exceeded $300 million.
