{"id":66398,"date":"2022-08-29T10:31:25","date_gmt":"2022-08-29T07:31:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=66398"},"modified":"2025-09-07T01:07:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T22:07:10","slug":"the-wolf-of-wall-street-criticised-high-risk-cryptocurrencies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/the-wolf-of-wall-street-criticised-high-risk-cryptocurrencies\/","title":{"rendered":"The Wolf of Wall Street criticised high-risk cryptocurrencies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The former American broker Jordan Belfort, known as &#8216;The Wolf of Wall Street&#8217;, in an interview <a href=\\\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/mSBDnc-HY48\\\">The Crypto Mile<\/a> compared low-capitalization digital assets to &#8216;junk&#8217; stocks.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>&#8216;I don\u2019t think there is any research you can do to protect yourself from these ultra-low-capitalization assets, except for very early entry,&#8217; he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Belfort, in this segment you can make enormous profits, but most buyers of &#8216;junk&#8217; stocks will lose their money.<\/p>\n<p>He warned investors away from buying such assets unless they are prepared to set aside a portion of their portfolio for gambling.<\/p>\n<p>The Wolf of Wall Street said he regards Bitcoin and Ethereum first and foremost as reliable digital assets because of their &#8216;strong fundamentals&#8217;.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>&#8216;I think this is only a matter of time before Bitcoin reaches maturity to begin trading more as a store of value than as growth stocks,&#8217; he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In 2018, Belfort said retail investors in Bitcoin had &#8216;their brains washed&#8217;. A few years later he changed his mind, as did many other investors and financiers.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2022, &#8216;The Wolf of Wall Street&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/the-wolf-of-wall-street-says-bitcoin-is-a-long-term-hedge-against-inflation\">called<\/a> Bitcoin a long-term hedge against inflation.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, he <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/wolf-of-wall-street-calls-shiba-inu-and-dogecoin-useless\">criticised meme cryptocurrencies<\/a> Shiba Inu and Dogecoin for their lack of value.
