The round was led by Haun Ventures, the former Andreessen Horowitz partner Katie Haun, according to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/165447\/haun-ventures-leads-24-million-round-into-web3-developer-platform-thirdweb\"> The Block<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Investors also included Coinbase Ventures, Shopify, Protocol Labs, Shrug VC, and Kleiner Perkins partner Joseph Lacob.<\/p>\n<p>The team will use the proceeds to hire engineers and to integrate Cosmos, Near, Flow and Solana (in September), in addition to Ethereum, Avalanche and Fantom.<\/p>\n<p>Thirdweb offers audited smart contracts that allow developers to create and securely deploy <span data-descr=\"decentralized applications\" class=\"old_tooltip\">dapps<\/span>, as well as manage related analytics.<\/p>\n<p>Use cases include blockchain games and NFTs.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;We are filling the gap between infrastructure and real applications,&#8221;<\/em> said Thirdweb cofounder Raidhan Bartlett in an interview with<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2022\/08\/25\/crypto-developer-platform-thirdweb-gets-katie-haun-backing-at-160m-valuation\/\">CoinDesk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The startup&#8217;s tools are used by Afterpay, New York Fashion Week and Coinbase for its NFT marketplace.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, in the last nine months more than 55,000 developers have used its tools to build applications.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in March, Haun Ventures&#8217; Katie Haun raised $1.5 billion for Web3 investments.<\/p>\n<p>In May, Andreessen Horowitz formed its fourth crypto fund worth $4.5 billion.
