This was disclosed by the central bank governor Godwin Emefiele, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2022\/08\/19\/nigerias-cbdc-enaira-used-for-nearly-10m-worth-of-transactions-since-october\/\">CoinDesk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Since the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/nigerian-president-announces-launch-of-cbdc\">launch<\/a> of Nigeria&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-central-bank-digital-currency-cbdc\">CBDC<\/a> in October 2021, the corresponding app has been installed more than 840 thousand times. The central bank also reported 270 thousand active wallets.<\/p>\n<p>Emefiele welcomed the CBDC&#8217;s integration into the economy of a country with more than 200 million people.
