While the ultimate task is direct ETH staking from L2, it all begins with seamless token bridging,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The team\u2019s &#8216;bridge&#8217; contracts for Optimism and Arbitrum have already <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/lidofinance\/audits\/blob\/main\/Oxorio%20Lido%20L2%20Smart%20Contracts%20Security%20Audit%20Report%2007-2022.pdf\">passed an external audit<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-lido\">Lido Finance<\/a> \u2014 the largest service for <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-liquid-staking\">highly liquid staking<\/a> of cryptocurrencies. The protocol allows depositing coins into the relevant contract and receiving in exchange a bundle of &#8216;derivative&#8217; tokens that can be used in DeFi services.<\/p>\n<p>Arbitrum and Optimism are the most popular layer-2 solutions, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/l2beat.com\/\">L2BEAT<\/a>. As of writing, their TVL metrics stand at $2.91 billion and $1.84 billion respectively. <span data-descr=\"the total value of assets locked in the smart contracts of decentralized applications\" class=\"old_tooltip\">TVL<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the Lido Finance team announced the launch of a liquid ETH 2.0 staking service on L2 networks.<\/p>\n<p>That same period, the platform integrated with Aztec and Argent.
