{"id":65592,"date":"2022-08-10T11:53:26","date_gmt":"2022-08-10T08:53:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=65592"},"modified":"2025-09-06T20:50:43","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T17:50:43","slug":"china-blocks-12000-social-media-accounts-for-cryptocurrency-promotion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/china-blocks-12000-social-media-accounts-for-cryptocurrency-promotion\/","title":{"rendered":"China blocks 12,000 social-media accounts for cryptocurrency promotion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) <a href=\\\"https:\/\/mp.weixin.qq.com\/s\/gpOkKXocfzDBE8vhNQOQDA\\\">said<\/a> it had blocked 12,000 social media accounts involved in promoting cryptocurrencies and attracting investors.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to the regulator, information about \\&#8221;easy money from digital assets\\&#8221;, mining, and cross-border currency speculation circulated on platforms such as Weibo, Baidu, Tieba, WeChat and others.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Officials also removed 51,000 articles and restricted access to 105 websites devoted to cryptocurrency topics. The authorities interviewed more than 500 commercial organisations involved in speculative activity.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to the CAC, the blocks were carried out because of a ban on cryptocurrency trading by Chinese authorities.
