This was stated by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin at the BUIDL Asia conference, reports <a href=\\\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/vitalik-centralized-usdc-could-decide-the-future-of-contentious-eth-hard-forks\\\">Cointelegraph<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\\&#8221;Two separate networks [&#8230;], and then there will be exchanges, oracle providers, stablecoin providers, which, in a sense, decide which one they respect. [&#8230;] Essentially, the USDC issuer&#8217;s decision on which Ethereum chain to deem legitimate could become an important factor in future contentious hard forks,\\&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In his view, \\&#8221;there are no signs\\&#8221; that such disagreements will pose a problem during <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/the-merge-what-to-expect-from-ethereums-largest-update\">the transition of the Ethereum network to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS)<\/a>.
