This is <a href=\\\"https:\/\/tass.ru\/obschestvo\/15391929\\\">\u0441\u043e\u043e\u0431\u0449\u0430\u0435\u0442<\/a> TASS, citing a decision by the Paris Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n<p>The decision was effectively a formality, as the results of the review of his dossier were announced on the eve of August 3.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the U.S. authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/us-withdraws-extradition-request-for-vinnik-from-france\">withdrew<\/a> the extradition request filed in 2020 to extradite the Russian from France.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Alexander Vinnik was detained in Greece in 2017 on suspicion of laundering $4 billion through the BTC-e cryptocurrency exchange. At the same time, U.S. authorities seized the BTC-e domain.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, the Greek court granted the extradition request for Vinnik at the request of the United States, Russia and France. In December 2019, Greece&#8217;s Ministry of Justice decided on sequential extradition of the Russian first to France, and then to the United States and Russia.<\/p>\n<p>In early 2020, Vinnik was extradited from Greece to France. There, he was sentenced to <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/alexander-vinnik-sentenced-to-five-years-in-prison-and-a-e100000-fine\">five years in prison and a fine of \u20ac100,000<\/a>.
