According to <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/kim-kardashian-legal-team-files-motion-to-dismiss-ethereummax-crypto-lawsuit\/amp\">Cointelegraph<\/a>, the report notes.<\/p>\n<p>The defense insists there is no evidence that Kardashian&#8217;s Instagram Stories specifically prompted investors to invest in the token.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cNone of the named plaintiffs asserts that they actually viewed any Instagram post before buying the tokens,\u201d the motion states.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the lawyers, the plaintiffs did not provide evidence that the celebrities received Ethereum payments for promoting EMAX on their social media accounts.<\/p>\n<p>EthereumMax became widely known in late spring 2021. On May 26, a promotional post on Twitter by former NBA star Paul Pierce \u2014 within days the price of EMAX reached a peak, after which it fell more than 80% in 11 days.<\/p>\n<p>In mid-June, EMAX rose again \u2014 coinciding with Kim Kardashian&#8217;s Instagram Stories. After that, the coin headed downward and has fallen by more than 97% from its peak.<\/p>\n<p>In January 2022, a suit was filed in the Central District of California against Kardashian, boxer Floyd Mayweather, and eight others.
