Specific timelines were not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>FTX US does not charge commissions on stock trades and does not engage in the practice of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/p\/paymentoforderflow.asp\">\u201cpayment for order flow\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The CEO of the parent company, Sam Bankman-Fried, emphasised that in the initial phase the exchange would not earn revenue from the service. The platform aims to grow its client base and increase assets under custody, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2022-07-27\/crypto-exchange-ftx-us-expands-stock-trading-plans-options-next\">Bloomberg<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cIf we refine this product during a period of low client activity, we will capitalise on this opportunity when trading volume picks up again,\u201d<\/em> said Brett Harrison, CEO of FTX US, in an interview.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The executive declined to provide specifics about a potential partnership with Robinhood. He noted that he is \u201cexcited about the prospects of doing business with an online broker.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in May, Emergent Fidelity Technologies, the entity tied to the head of FTX, <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.news\/ftx-priobrela-7-6-dolyu-v-robinhood\/\">acquired 7.6% of Robinhood<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bankman-Fried later denied reports of plans for the exchange to acquire the online broker.
