This is according to the <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/ix?doc=\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1318605\/000095017022012936\/tsla-20220630.htm\\\">SEC filing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The company did not disclose the sale price of the digital gold in the second quarter.<\/p>\n<p>The negative revaluation of the remaining bitcoins on the balance sheet stood at $170 million.<\/p>\n<p>The company carried the current value of its digital assets at $218 million. As of December 31, 2021, this figure stood at $1.26 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Along with the release of the second-quarter financial results, Tesla disclosed information about the <a href=\\\"https:\/\/forklog.news\/tesla-prodala-75-prinadlezhashhih-ej-bitkoinov\/\\\">sale of 75% of its bitcoins<\/a>. The company had acquired the digital gold <a href=\\\"https:\/\/forklog.news\/tesla-ilona-maska-investirovala-1-5-mlrd-v-bitkoin\/\\\">in February 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the SEC filing, Tesla generated $936 million in revenue. Management explained the move as &#8220;the need to increase liquidity during COVID restrictions in China&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bitcoin Treasuries, the average cost of Tesla&#8217;s purchase of the first cryptocurrency before its partial sale <a href=\\\"https:\/\/forklog.news\/iyun-2022-v-tsifrah-bitkoin-nizhe-20-000-diskont-na-steth-i-krah-izvestnyh-kriptokompanij\/\\\">could have been $34,722<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2021, Tesla <a href=\\\"https:\/\/forklog.news\/tesla-prodala-chast-bitkoinov-na-272-mln\/\\\">sold part of its holdings in the first cryptocurrency<\/a> for $272 million.
