By the end of June 2022, in her campaign treasury <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fec.gov\/data\/candidate\/S0WY00137\/?cycle=2026&#038;election_full=true#total-raised\">\u043d\u0430\u0441\u0447\u0438\u0442\u044b\u0432\u0430\u043b\u043e\u0441\u044c<\/a> more than $243 000. The funds will go toward financing the 2026 campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Among the donors to Lummis are representatives of Multicoin Capital, Andreessen Horowitz founder Ben Horowitz and venture fund partner Chris Dixon, cofounder of the startup <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/former-meta-staffers-raise-200-million-for-aptos-project\">Aptos<\/a>, Kraken chief legal officer Marco Santori, and a number of other industry stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>Lummis is the co-author of <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/us-senate-unveils-bipartisan-bill-to-regulate-crypto-industry\">the legislation to regulate the cryptocurrency industry<\/a>, which was introduced in June 2022. The document introduces legal terminology for digital assets and virtual currencies, and defines the powers of the supervisory agencies.<\/p>\n<p>In the current version of the bill <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/cynthia-lummis-explains-omission-of-nfts-from-crypto-regulation-bill\">there were no provisions on NFTs<\/a>. Lummis explained this was due to the difficulty of classifying non-fungible tokens.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the senator <AOPEN_4>named<\/a> &#8216;a good idea&#8217; for the <span data-descr=\"the U.S. Federal Reserve\" class=\"old_tooltip\">\u0424\u0420\u0421<\/span> to buy Bitcoin. In her words, the Federal Reserve could direct part of its currency reserves toward buying digital gold.<\/p>\n<p>The senator herself first invested in Bitcoin in 2013.
