{"id":63596,"date":"2022-06-28T15:55:51","date_gmt":"2022-06-28T12:55:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=63596"},"modified":"2025-09-06T09:52:54","modified_gmt":"2025-09-06T06:52:54","slug":"state-duma-approves-law-taxing-digital-financial-assets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/state-duma-approves-law-taxing-digital-financial-assets\/","title":{"rendered":"State Duma approves law taxing digital financial assets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The State Duma of the Russian Federation approved, in both the second and third readings, the <a href=\"https:\/\/sozd.duma.gov.ru\/bill\/106872-8\">\u0437\u0430\u043a\u043e\u043d<\/a> on the taxation of operations with digital financial assets (DFA).<\/p>\n<p>The services of organisations that will issue, supervise and account for the circulation of DFA are exempt from VAT, by analogy with securities.<\/p>\n<p>When realising digital rights that include both security- and utility-tokens, the tax base is defined as the difference between the sale price and the acquisition price of the said digital right, taking into account the amount of tax.<\/p>\n<p>The income tax for Russian-resident organisations that hold DFAs will be 13%; for foreign companies \u2013 15%.<\/p>\n<p>In April, the bill <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bill-on-taxes-for-digital-assets-submitted-to-the-state-duma\">was introduced<\/a> to the State Duma. In May, it <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/state-duma-backs-first-reading-of-bill-taxing-digital-assets\">was supported<\/a> in the first reading.<\/p>\n<p>The document <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/expert-tax-bill-on-digital-assets-does-not-affect-russias-cryptocurrency-market\">does not concern cryptocurrencies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In June, a bill <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/duma-introduces-bill-to-ban-the-use-of-digital-assets-as-a-means-of-payment\">to ban the use of DFA as a means of payment<\/a> on the territory of the Russian Federation appeared. It has already <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/russias-state-duma-backs-in-the-first-reading-a-ban-on-using-digital-financial-assets-dfas-as-a-means-of-payment\">been approved<\/a> in the first reading.<\/p>\n<p>Later, another document concerning DFA was submitted to the State Duma.
