By the end of the year, Epic Games Store users will gain access to the platform’s first NFT game, GRIT. This was stated<\/a> by Gala Games, the developer.<\/p>\n

The game is built in the ‘battle royale’ genre and offers players several combat modes. To win in the multiplayer Western-themed shooter, players must assemble the best combination of weapons and gear in the form of in-game items.<\/p>\n

GRIT is built on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine. The developers did not disclose a release date; users can add the game to their wish list.<\/p>\n

“The appearance of Gala Games’ games in the Epic Games Store lends legitimacy to this new genre. Easy access to Web3 applications is a turning point for gamers who have not yet seen how digital property can enrich the gameplay,” said John Oswald, the company’s president.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Gala Games will release 10,000 avatars for players in GRIT, offering a unique look and customization elements. The NFT sale will commence on June 6 during the Galaverse event in Malta.<\/p>\n

In October 2021, Valve Corporation, operator of the largest online store for video games Steam, forbade<\/a> placing blockchain games on it. At that time, Epic Games Store said that they remained “open to games with cryptocurrency support”.<\/p>\n
