{"id":62003,"date":"2022-05-25T16:03:29","date_gmt":"2022-05-25T13:03:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=62003"},"modified":"2025-09-05T15:27:43","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T12:27:43","slug":"andreessen-horowitz-raises-4-5-billion-for-new-crypto-fund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/andreessen-horowitz-raises-4-5-billion-for-new-crypto-fund\/","title":{"rendered":"Andreessen Horowitz raises $4.5 billion for new crypto fund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The venture firm Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) <a href=\"https:\/\/a16zcrypto.com\/crypto-fund-four\/\">raised $4.5 billion<\/a> into a new fund focused on Web3 and cryptocurrency startups.<\/p>\n<p>$1.5 billion will go to pre-seed investments, with the remaining amount earmarked for rounds at later stages.<\/p>\n<p>The fund focuses on projects in the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>games;<\/li>\n<li>DeFi;<\/li>\n<li>NFT;<\/li>\n<li>social platforms;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.io\/chto-takoe-suverennaya-identichnost-self-sovereign-identity\/\">sovereign identity<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>infrastructure for Layer 1 and Layer 2 networks;<\/li>\n<li>privacy;<\/li>\n<li>content monetization;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/christophermarquis\/2021\/09\/07\/rsf-is-leading-the-way-in-moving-from-impact-investing-to-regenerative-finance\/\">regenerative finance<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.io\/chto-takoe-dokazatelstvo-s-nulevym-razglasheniem-zero-knowledge-proof\/\">zero-knowledge proofs<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>decentralized content.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The vehicle is the fourth crypto fund from a16z. In total, the firm has raised more than $7.6 billion for these purposes \u2014 $2.2 billion in the third fund and $965 million in the first two.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cWe are entering the golden age of Web 3.0. \u2026 a wide range of decentralized apps (dapps) has reached tens of millions of users. A massive wave of world-class talent has entered the industry with the aim of improving the Internet,\u201d<\/em> the press release said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In April, a16z opened a research division for cryptocurrencies and other Web 3.0\u2013related technologies.
