The corresponding law was passed by parliament and signed by President Faustin-Archange Touad\u00e9ra, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/central-african-republic-adopts-bitcoin-104407031.html\">AFP<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The document also envisages the rollout of cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe CAR is the first in Africa to take this step, which will place it among the boldest and most far-sighted countries in the world\u201d<\/em>, \u2014 said Obed Namsio, head of the president&#8217;s administration.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The CAR is one of the poorest countries on the Black Continent and in the world overall. By GDP per capita (PPP) the country sits third from the bottom of the rankings at $1,040 (<a href=\"https:\/\/data.worldbank.org\/indicator\/NY.GNP.PCAP.PP.CD?year_high_desc=true\">\u0434\u0430\u043d\u043d\u044b\u0435 \u0412\u0441\u0435\u043c\u0438\u0440\u043d\u043e\u0433\u043e \u0431\u0430\u043d\u043a\u0430<\/a> \u0437\u0430 2020 \u0433\u043e\u0434). Worse only Somalia and Burundi.<\/p>\n<p>In the United Nations Development Programme&#8217;s Human Development Index ranking, the CAR is also an outlier \u2014 second from the bottom on the continent and 188th out of 193 in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, a recent study <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.io\/opros-pokazal-proval-salvadora-v-eksperimente-s-bitkoinom\/\">\u043f\u043e\u043a\u0430\u0437\u0430\u043b\u043e<\/a> low adoption rates of Bitcoin in El Salvador.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the IMF repeatedly <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.io\/mvf-vnov-raskritikoval-legalizatsiyu-bitkoina-v-salvadore\/\">\u043a\u0440\u0438\u0442\u0438\u043a\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043b<\/a> the decision to legalize Bitcoin in El Salvador.
