The event occurred at block 730,002.<\/p>\n<p>As of writing, 90.48% of the total supply of digital gold has been mined, which is capped at 21 million BTC.<\/p>\n<p>Under the algorithm laid out by Satoshi Nakamoto, block rewards are halved every 210,000 blocks.
