Under the latest round, Ripple has already distributed $6 million among 50 open-source projects focused on NFTs and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ripples-cto-proposed-launching-a-sidechain-based-on-xrp\">federated sidechains<\/a>. Applications for the third wave grants are <a href=\"https:\/\/dev.to\/ripplexdev\/xrpl-grants-wave-3-theme-contributing-to-open-source-28ob\">being accepted<\/a> until March 28.<\/p>\n<p>According to the announcement, the company sets the following goals:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>creating an accelerator, within which XRPL-based projects will receive financial and advisory support, including training and mentoring;<\/li>\n<li>developing the XRPL DeFi ecosystem;<\/li>\n<li>establishing a foundation that will work with universities \u2014 the company believes this will boost the influx of talent into the ecosystem. The structure will also work with organisations representing minority interests;<\/li>\n<li>launching a sustainable development program;<\/li>\n<li>expanding the XRPL Grants jury to ensure a diversity of viewpoints in evaluating projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On the initiative&#8217;s website <a href=\"https:\/\/xrplgrants.org\/\">it says<\/a> that grants can be applied for by teams building foundational technologies and user-oriented products. In particular, Ripple highlighted sidechains, NFTs, infrastructure and network security-related projects, as well as developer tools.
