Special invite somewhere below \ud83d\udc47 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ApU0j1lZCu\">https:\/\/t.co\/ApU0j1lZCu<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Mo Shaikh (@moshaikhs) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/moshaikhs\/status\/1503739653291081728?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 15, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Funding was also provided by Multicoin Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Katie Haun, Three Arrows Capital, ParaFi Capital, IRONGREY, Hashed, Variant, Tiger Global, BlockTower, FTX Ventures and Paxos.<\/p>\n<p>Aptos <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/aptoslabs\/the-genesis-of-aptos-ff98d86e9445\">are built<\/a> on open-source technology for the project <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/libra-association-renamed-to-diem-association\">Diem<\/a> and the Move programming language at its core.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;The ideas formed during the development of Diem remain relevant and will form an important foundation for a secure, scalable and updatable <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Web_3.0\"><em>Web 3.0.<\/em><\/a><em> We are rapidly advancing decentralization and open access; the code is open.&#8221;<\/em>, according to the project&#8217;s blog.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On March 15, the team <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/aptoslabs\/expanding-the-aptos-community-38c5b18a84b7\">announced<\/a> the launch of a developer testnet. The testnet and mainnet launches are expected in the second and third quarters, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Aptos CEO Mo Shaikh told <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2022\/03\/15\/aptos-labs-a16z-multicoin-facebook-diem-blockchain\/\">TechCrunch<\/a> that, to build a web3 ecosystem for the mass market, the project intends to collaborate with some of the world&#8217;s largest brands and technology companies. His valuation exceeded $1 billion.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2021, blockchain startup Mysten Labs, formed by a group of other former Meta employees <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/blockchain-startup-from-former-meta-staff-raises-36-million-from-andreessen-horowitz\">raised $36 million<\/a> from Andreessen Horowitz and other investors.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2022 it emerged that the Diem Association <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.news\/silvergate-capital-kupila-proekt-stejblkoina-diem-ot-meta\/\" title=\"\">announced<\/a> the sale of Silvergate Capital Corporation&#8217;s intellectual property and other assets related to the operation of the Diem payment network.
