According to <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.theblockcrypto.com\/linked\/135048\/tendermint-changes-name-in-light-of-former-ceo-jae-kwons-new-project\\\">The Block<\/a>, in 2020 he left the company to launch Virgo and \u201cto build better open technology for collaboration\u201d aimed at solving global problems such as climate change.<\/p>\n<p>The current Ignite CEO Pat Zhong, who replaced Kwon, said that the founder had reclaimed ownership of the brand for the new company. The latter confirmed the launch of the project under the name Tendermint, without disclosing any details.<\/p>\n<p>According to Zhong, in search of a new brand he aimed for something that would better clarify Cosmos&#8217;s mission.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cAs for Ignite [from English \u2014 to ignite], this is much closer to what Cosmos is.
