And of course, Bitcoin does not hedge against geopolitical events \u2014 in fact, the opposite is true,\u201d Taleb wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On February 21, the price of Bitcoin <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitcoin-price-falls-below-38000\">broke through the $38,000<\/a> level. At the time of writing, the cryptocurrency market capitalization had fallen below $1.8 trillion, according to <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/global_charts\\\">CoinGecko<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In May 2021 Taleb <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/nassim-taleb-calls-bitcoin-a-mega-ponzi-scheme\">compared<\/a> digital gold to a Ponzi scheme.
