Market capitalization below $2 trillion\"\/><figcaption><meta charset=\"utf-8\">Data: CoinGecko.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On Tuesday, February 15, the total market capitalization<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/crypto-market-capitalization-has-once-again-surpassed-2-trillion\"> exceeded the $2 trillion mark<\/a> amid revived investor demand for blue-chip and illiquid crypto assets. At the time of writing, the gauge stood at $1.9 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2022\/02\/17\/bitcoin-suffers-biggest-drop-in-four-weeks-nearing-40k\/\">CoinDesk<\/a>, Edward Moy, senior analyst at the brokerage OANDA, cited &#8220;short-term geopolitical risks and potentially overly aggressive monetary policy tightening&#8221; by the <span data-descr=\"Federal Reserve System\" class=\"old_tooltip\">\u0424\u0420\u0421<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Following yesterday&#8217;s trading session, the S&amp;P 500 fell 2.12% to 4,380.26 points, the Nasdaq down 2.88% to 13,716.72 points.<\/p>\n<p>ExoAlpha managing partner David Lifshitz told Cointelegraph that geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine are the main news topic driving &#8216;softness in global markets.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>He suggested the situation \u201clooks like a distraction from the problem of real yields and inflation.\u201d Lifshitz argues that Bitcoin is retreating to a range between $30,000 and $50,000.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIf there is no significant breakout below $33,000 or above $48,000, swing trading will continue, and altcoins will follow the movement with large amplitude,\u201d said the ExoAlpha partner.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Not everyone shares the bearish view. An analyst using the pseudonym IncomeSharks noted that Bitcoin is \u201ca stronger asset than people give it credit for.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">With everything that has happened over the years how can you not be bullish knowing <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a> is still worth over $40 000?
