ForkLog reported this.<\/p>\n<p>The new name aims to underscore the network&#8217;s link to the BNB token and demonstrate that its use has extended beyond the Binance platform.<\/p>\n<p>The token will continue to be used on the BNB Chain as gas and as an asset for governance participation.<\/p>\n<p>The BNB Chain ecosystem will comprise:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the BNB Beacon Chain governance network (formerly Binance Chain);<\/li>\n<li>the BNB Smart Chain blockchain (BSC) \u2014 formerly Binance Smart Chain;<\/li>\n<li><span data-descr=\"Ethereum Virtual Machine\" class=\"old_tooltip\">EVM<\/span>-compatible consensus layers, including multi-chain hubs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cBNB Chain will cover large-scale applications, including <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/monetising-entertainment-how-gamefi-is-changing-the-gaming-paradigm\">GameFi<\/a>, SocalFi and metaverses.
