On this, <a href=\"https:\/\/iz.ru\/1291482\/2022-02-15\/v-rossii-mogut-vvesti-nalog-po-faktu-konvertatsii-kriptovaliut-v-rubli\">\u0441\u043e\u043e\u0431\u0449\u0430\u044e\u0442<\/a> \u00abIzvestia\u00bb, citing the ministry&#8217;s press service.<\/p>\n<p>It is envisaged that the reduced tariffs would apply to the connection of mining farms and data-processing centres to energy sources, as well as to the electricity itself.<\/p>\n<p>In the ministry&#8217;s view, this would help avoid risks of capacity shortages for supplying housing and industry in other regions.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, cryptocurrency mining is recommended to be treated as a commercial activity, with taxes paid on the conversion of cryptocurrencies into rubles.<\/p>\n<p>Against this backdrop, the ministry is considering setting a threshold for electricity use by individuals. If that threshold is exceeded, it would signal that consumers are carrying out mining and would lead to a higher tariff for them, comparable to business rates.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Russian government <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/media-russia-approves-roadmap-for-cryptocurrency-regulation-through-the-end-of-2022\">approved the concept<\/a> of regulating the circulation of cryptocurrencies. On its basis <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/aksakov-signals-readiness-of-draft-bill-to-regulate-russias-bitcoin-market\">a draft version<\/a> of the corresponding bill is already ready. According to Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market, the document contains provisions on mining regulation.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Finance Ministry described a preliminary scheme for taxing cryptocurrencies.
