On 2 February, in the centre of Kyiv near the cryptocurrency exchange on Vladimirskaya Street, unknown assailants opened fire with an automatic weapon. About this \u0441\u043e\u043e\u0431\u0449\u0430\u044e\u0442<\/a> local media.<\/p>\n

According to them, as a result of the incident, Aleksey Seredyuk, a member of one of Ukraine’s radical parties, was wounded \u2014 he was struck in the face. Also, \u0434\u0430\u043d\u043d\u044b\u043c<\/a> by Kyiv police, a second person was injured. They were taken to hospital.<\/p>\n

Law enforcement sealed off the scene and detained 14 people who took part in the clash.<\/p>\n

\u201cPreliminarily, it has been established that between activists and the establishment’s staff a conflict and a fight arose, as a result of which two people were taken to hospital. During the incident, the participants fired several warning shots from weapons. As a result, no one was injured,\u201d the police press service said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The authorities are establishing the circumstances of the incident and the identities of those detained. A criminal case has been opened under the article \u201cHooliganism\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the media, \u043f\u0440\u0435\u0434\u043f\u043e\u043b\u043e\u0436\u0438\u043b\u0438<\/a> that nationalists tried to extort money from the exchange, but were met with resistance.<\/p>\n

Founding Kuna founder Mikhail Chobanian, in a ForkLog comment, suggested that the incident occurred \u043c\u0435\u0436\u0434\u0443 \u0434\u0432\u0443\u043c\u044f \u043a\u0440\u0443\u043f\u043d\u044b\u043c\u0438 \u043e\u0431\u043c\u0435\u043d\u043d\u0438\u043a\u0430\u043c\u0438<\/a>, and nationalist groups could have been drawn into the conflict as \u201cmercenaries\u201d.<\/p>\n

As reported in April 2021, the Security Service of Ukraine announced the dismantling of a group<\/a>, allegedly involved in laundering and illegal transfers of funds, including through cryptocurrencies. However a business partner of the suspects said there was police overreach and called the accusations unfounded.<\/p>\n
