Their scale and frequency demanded a special tax regime. [\u2026] Any income from the transfer of such an asset is taxed at 30%. No deductions are allowed, except for the cost of acquisition,\u201d<\/em> \u2014 the official commented.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Sitharaman, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-central-bank-digital-currency-cbdc\">CBDC<\/a> \u201con the basis of blockchain and other technologies\u201d will enable a more efficient and cheaper system for managing the national currency, and will also give \u201ca big push to the economy.\u201d The launch of the digital rupee is expected in the new financial year, starting in April, the Finance Minister added.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier ForkLog reported that the Reserve Bank of India may <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/rbi-clarifies-timelines-for-cbdc-pilot-launch\">conduct pilot tests<\/a> of CBDC in the first quarter of fiscal 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in 2021, India reported a possible legislative ban on cryptocurrencies, with discussions of <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/media-indian-authorities-propose-prison-terms-for-bitcoin-holders\">criminal liability<\/a> for owners.<\/p>\n<p>In the middle of the year there was information that authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/media-bitcoin-to-be-classified-as-an-asset-class-in-india\">to legalize digital currencies<\/a> as a class of assets.<\/p>\n<p>However in November there was renewed talk of the government\u2019s intention <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/india-to-introduce-bill-to-ban-most-private-cryptocurrencies\">to ban most \u201cprivate currencies\u201d<\/a>.
