Developers are working on fixes.<\/p>\n<div class='wp-block-text-wrappers-update-2 article_update'><time class='gtb_text-wrappers_update_time'>24 January 2022 | 16:15<\/time><span class='gtb_text-wrappers_update_head'>Update: <\/span><\/p>\n<p>In a published <a href='https:\/\/blog.solend.fi\/response-to-solana-network-issues-5c8184607283'>report<\/a>, Solana developers blamed spam bots for the outage, which began flooding transaction requests. Because of the heavy load validators were failing, not filtering out duplicate operations.<\/p>\n<p>Users whose positions were liquidated during the outage will be compensated 50% of the penalty. Those affected by extreme volatility will be fully reimbursed for their losses.<\/p>\n<blockquote class='wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow'>\n<p>\u201cWhile we hope this does not recur, there is a possibility that we could face similar problems again,\u201d the developers wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>Investor and author of HarperCollins Mark Jeffrey wrote about the sixth outage of the project\u2019s network in the last three months.<\/p>\n<blockquote class='wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow'>\n<p>\u201cNow I don\u2019t believe in this [Solana]. According to <a href='https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/solana'>CoinGecko<\/a>, the project&#8217;s market capitalisation stands at $31.5 billion.<\/p>\n<p>6 January, the Solan\u0430 <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/solana-developers-warn-of-possible-transaction-processing-errors\">reported a drop in performance<\/a> of the mainnet beta and warned users about possible errors in processing transactions.<\/p>\n<p>The problem was attributed to an increase in the number of \u201chigh-performance computing operations.\u201d According to the developers, this caused throughput to fall to \u201cseveral thousand\u201d transactions per second.<\/p>\n<p>On January 4 the Solana network was unavailable for about five hours. On December 9, 2021 users also <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/users-report-a-new-outage-on-the-solana-network\">reported an outage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On September 14 in the Solana network <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/solana-network-restarts-after-major-outage\">a halt of on-chain activity<\/a> occurred. New blocks did not come out for more than 16 hours; to resume operation of the blockchain <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/solana-network-restarts-after-major-outage\">a restart was required<\/a>.
