The deal is expected to close in mid-2022.<\/p>\n<p>Financial terms were not disclosed. The bank will continue to operate as a separate unit.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, this decision followed the launch of BitMEX Link, based in Switzerland. The company described the acquisition of BVDH as the next step on the road to European expansion.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneyhouse.ch\/de\/company\/bxm-operations-ag-20391744901\">open data<\/a>, BXM Operations AG was registered in November 2021 as a business-consulting services provider. The board includes BitMEX CEO Alexander Heptner and the exchange&#8217;s chief financial officer Stefan Lutz.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitmex-to-launch-its-own-bmex-token\"> BitMEX announced the launch of its own token<\/a> BMEX and announced an airdrop. Prior to this, the company settled a civil dispute with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and <span data-descr=\"Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN)\" class=\"old_tooltip\">FinCEN<\/span>, agreeing <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitmex-to-pay-100m-to-settle-us-regulators-claims\">to pay a $100 million fine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/cftc-sues-bitmex-and-its-founders\"> the CFTC filed a lawsuit<\/a> against BitMEX and its owners. The regulator accused them of operating an unregistered trading platform and violations of KYC\/AML procedures.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the Department of Justice brought charges for violating the Bank Secrecy Act against BitMEX co-founders Arthur Hayes, Ben Delo and Samuel Reed, as well as the exchange&#8217;s head of business development Greg Dwyer.<\/p>\n<p>Reed<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitmex-cto-samuel-reed-released-on-5-million-bond\"> was released on bail<\/a> of $5 million. The case was voluntarily surrendered in March 2021, and Hayes did so in April. In their case the bail amounts were <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/court-frees-bitmex-co-founder-on-20-million-bond\">$20 million<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/former-bitmex-chief-surrenders-to-u-s-authorities-released-on-10-million-bond\">$10 million<\/a> respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Hayes, Delo and Reed<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitmex-founders-to-stand-trial-in-2022\"> will stand trial in March<\/a> 2022.
