According to the developers, this caused the network\u2019s throughput to fall to \u201ca few thousand\u201d transactions per second (TPS).<\/p>\n<p>The project team stressed that, in collaboration with ecosystem participants, they are working to fix the situation and boost the network\u2019s resilience.<\/p>\n<p>According to Solana Beach, at the time of writing the blockchain\u2019s throughput stood at about 1,500 TPS. The network\u2019s maximum throughput with 600 nodes and 1000 validators exceeds 60 000 TPS.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on January 4, the Solana network was unavailable for about five hours. Journalist Colin Wu linked the problem to a <a href=\"https:\/\/ru.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/DoS-%D0%B0%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BA%D0%B0#:~:text=DoS%20(%D0%B0%D1%81%D1%82%D0%B0%D0%BA%D0%B0%20%C2%AB%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%BA%D0%B0%D0%B7%20%D0%B2,%D0%B8%D1%82%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%BE%20%D0%B1%D1%83%D0%B4%D0%B5%D1%82%20%D0%B7%D0%B0%D1%82%D1%80%D1%83%D0%B4%D0%BD%D1%8E\">DDoS-\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043a\u043e\u0439<\/a>, but the project&#8217;s founder Anatoly Yakovenko disputed this information.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udc4b, sorry that\u2019s not at all what happened. It subsequently deleted the tweet, and the Solana Foundation did not comment on the information.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in September, the project\u2019s on-chain activity <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/solana-network-restarts-after-major-outage\">stopped<\/a>. New blocks were not produced for more than 16 hours, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/solana-developers-identify-cause-of-major-outage\">a restart was required to resume blockchain operation<\/a>.
