{"id":55119,"date":"2021-12-23T13:54:35","date_gmt":"2021-12-23T11:54:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=55119"},"modified":"2025-09-03T23:46:37","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T20:46:37","slug":"pavel-durov-backs-toncoin-developers-as-token-price-climbs-46","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/pavel-durov-backs-toncoin-developers-as-token-price-climbs-46\/","title":{"rendered":"Pavel Durov backs Toncoin developers as token price climbs 46%"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>Telegram founder Pavel Durov publicly voiced his support for the Toncoin developers.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?15\" data-telegram-post=\"durov\/175\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>He said he was proud that &#8220;the technology we created is alive and developing.&#8221; Durov stressed that Toncoin does not depend on the Telegram team, and wished the developers success:<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>&#8220;With the right go-to-market strategy, they have everything they need to build something grand.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In response to Durov&#8217;s statement, TONCOIN&#8217;s price began to rise rapidly.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?15\" data-telegram-post=\"forklog\/23217\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In May 2020, Pavel Durov announced the closure of the Telegram Open Network (TON) project due to a legal dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and a ban on token distribution.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>After the TON shutdown, several independent teams continued work on the blockchain based on the project&#8217;s code. Among them are <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-everscale-ever\">Free TON<\/a> (renamed to <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/free-ton-renamed-to-everscale\">Everscale<\/a>), the Chinese project from TON Community (which is not developing at present) and NewTON.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The latter launched the test network NewTON Blockchain in May 2020. In August 2021, the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/telegram-hands-over-the-ton-org-domain-to-independent-developers\">TON team transferred the ton.org domain<\/a> and the project&#8217;s GitHub repository to NewTON, which subsequently renamed itself The Open Network.
