He disclosed this in an interview with <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.theinformation.com\/articles\/microstrategy-ceo-on-company-s-bitcoin-lending-plans\\\">The Information<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>Saylor said he has never sold his coins, except when he deems it prudent. He projects that the price of a single Bitcoin could reach $6 million in the future.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>Founded by him, MicroStrategy owns 122,478 BTC. The firm first <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-becomes-the-first-nasdaq-listed-company-to-invest-part-of-its-capital-in-bitcoin\">invested in Bitcoin in August 2020<\/a>, buying the cryptocurrency for $250 million.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-bets-another-175-million-on-bitcoin\">board-approved strategy<\/a>, the company continued to acquire digital gold, using both equity and debt financing.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>As of the time of writing, MicroStrategy&#8217;s most recent purchase was in December \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-buys-1434-more-btc-for-over-80-million\">1,434 BTC for about $82.4 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>In total, the company has invested roughly $3.66 billion in Bitcoin. At current prices, its cryptocurrency reserves stand at about $5.9 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Saylor called digital gold a \\&#8221;global reserve asset\\&#8221; and suggested that MicroStrategy <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/michael-saylor-bitcoin-is-a-world-reserve-asset-but-not-a-currency\">will store the cryptocurrency &#8216;forever&#8217;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n<\/p>\n<p>Since the start of 2021, Bitcoin has risen by about 67%, and the company&#8217;s stock has gained around 47%.
