According to the developers, this restriction was necessary to test Optimism, as a small number of teams made it easier to plan and implement updates.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives of the authorized projects, in turn, were always in touch and promptly reported any bugs they found.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>In a blog post, &#8220;Over the past year we have been stress-testing and hardening the network. After lengthy preparation, we finally feel we can shed the training wheels,&#8221; it says.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In November, developers launched in the Optimism network the &#8216;EVM Equivalence&#8217; (<a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/ethereum-optimism\/introducing-evm-equivalence-5c2021deb306\">EVM Equivalence<\/a>), stating that its functionality fully matches the original EVM.<\/p>\n<p>The team emphasised that it plans to continue working on decentralising the project. Next year, they promised to unveil &#8220;a few interesting updates&#8221; that will make the network faster, cheaper and more secure.<\/p>\n<p>The developers stressed that, for the project&#8217;s development, they retained control over key parts of the system such as a multisig wallet that allows updating any of the Optimism contracts deployed on Ethereum.<\/p>\n<p>With the whitelist scrapped, Optimism&#8217;s TVL could rise.
