The measure is described in <a href=\\\"https:\/\/cbr.ru\/StaticHtml\/File\/41186\/211213-38-1.pdf\\\">Bank of Russia&#8217;s draft guidance<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The document also sets out a ban on investments by PIFs, including those intended exclusively for qualified investors, in financial instruments whose value depends on the prices of digital currencies.<\/p>\n<p>The central bank said the measure is intended to protect investors&#8217; rights.<\/p>\n<p>The draft has been published for consultation, with comments due by December 27.<\/p>\n<p>In July, the Bank of Russia <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bank-of-russia-urges-exchanges-not-to-allow-trading-of-crypto-linked-instruments\">recommended<\/a> exchanges not to allow trading of instruments tied to cryptocurrencies.
