It quickly became a reality in several versions, Bloomberg reports.<\/p>\n<p>Sherman stated that \u201cthe number one threat to cryptocurrency is cryptocurrency itself.\u201d He then apparently paraphrased <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/There_Was_an_Old_Lady_Who_Swallowed_a_Fly\">the song<\/a> about the old lady who swallowed ever-larger animals to catch the previously swallowed.<\/p>\n<p>According to the congressman, Bitcoin could be displaced by Ethereum, it could be leapfrogged by Dogecoin, which could be replaced by <span data-descr=\"hamster\" class=\"old_tooltip\">Hamster<\/span> Coin, and then <span data-descr=\"cobra\" class=\"old_tooltip\">Cobra<\/span> Coin.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cAnd what could Mongoose Coin do next?\u201d, \u2014 rhetorically finished his joke.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BradSherman?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BradSherman<\/a>: &#8220;The number one threat to cryptocurrency is crypto. Other variations on the mongoose theme also appeared.<\/p>\n<p>The coins were issued on the Avalanche, Polygon and Binance Smart Chain networks.<\/p>\n<p>As of writing, the market capitalization of MONGOOSE stands at $22.5 million, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dextools.io\/app\/ether\/pair-explorer\/0x450e653a0a125a1dc36d3901d3cce2e2287df0c2\">Dextools<\/a>.
