The transactions took place between 29 November and 8 December 2021. The outlay matched the proceeds MicroStrategy earned in the same period from selling 119,828 shares at $693.1 per share.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>As of December 9, the firm owned 122,478 BTC, having spent about $3.66 billion. At the time of writing, MicroStrategy&#8217;s digital-asset reserves were valued at more than $6 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The company was the first publicly listed to allocate part of its equity to digital gold. In August 2020, the business analytics software provider <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-becomes-the-first-nasdaq-listed-company-to-invest-part-of-its-capital-in-bitcoin\">bought 21,454 BTC<\/a> (roughly $250 million at the rate at the time of the deal).<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>MicroStrategy continued to scale up its crypto reserves in line with <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-bets-another-175-million-on-bitcoin\">the board-approved strategy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Since December 2020, the company began using not only its own capital but also debt financing to buy bitcoin, issuing <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-raises-650-million-for-bitcoin-purchase\">convertible bonds worth $650 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In February MicroStrategy issued a new tranche <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-raises-more-than-1-billion-in-debt-financing-to-buy-bitcoin\">worth more than $1 billion<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microstrategy-buys-more-bitcoin-for-1-026-billion\">again deployed<\/a> the raised funds into cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the year the firm continued to invest in bitcoin.
