{"id":53795,"date":"2021-11-30T13:45:12","date_gmt":"2021-11-30T11:45:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=53795"},"modified":"2025-09-03T16:58:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T13:58:09","slug":"media-huobi-to-relocate-regional-hq-to-singapore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/media-huobi-to-relocate-regional-hq-to-singapore\/","title":{"rendered":"Media: Huobi to relocate regional HQ to Singapore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The operator of the largest Chinese cryptocurrency exchange Huobi will open a regional headquarters in Singapore. <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2021-11-30\/china-s-biggest-crypto-exchange-picks-singapore-as-asia-base\\\">Bloomberg<\/a> reported this, citing the company&#8217;s co-founder Du Jun.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The city-state will become the new base for Huobi Group after the move from China, he told the publication.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Du said that in 2023 the company plans to establish another regional headquarters in France or the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>He noted that Southeast Asia is an attractive market, with the number of users there having grown fourfold in the last month alone.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to the publication, in August Huobi International Pte. was registered in Singapore. Its majority shareholder is another co-founder of the Chinese firm \u2014 Li Lin.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>A subsidiary of Huobi Technology Holdings Ltd of Hong Kong established another company \u2014 Huobi Singapore, which is seeking a license from the regulator in the island state.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In September the exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-and-huobi-halt-new-user-registrations-in-mainland-china\">stopped registering new users<\/a> in mainland China after <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitcoin-slips-below-42000-as-china-tightens-crypto-trading-regulation\">another wave of repression<\/a> against the cryptocurrency industry.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In October the platform <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/huobi-suspends-crypto-derivative-trading-in-mainland-china\">completely halted<\/a> trading derivatives for Chinese users.
