Chinese company Canaan reported the delivery of a large batch of Avalon Bitcoin miners to Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n
According to CoinDesk<\/a>, this concerns 2,000 devices. The miners will be put into operation in the near future.<\/p>\n Currently, the total hashrate of the equipment stands at 32,000 TH\/s, with Canaan planning to “put into operation 850,000 TH\/s” in the future.<\/p>\n In June the company announced the opening of after-sales service center<\/a> and the start of Bitcoin mining<\/a> in Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n In the third quarter of 2021, Canaan’s revenue was record $204.5 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n As reported, amid tightening rhetoric from Chinese authorities toward cryptocurrency mining, many companies began placing their equipment in Kazakhstan<\/a>.<\/p>\n According to the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance, the country has become one of the world’s leaders<\/a> in terms of computing power in the Bitcoin network.<\/p>\n Against this backdrop, electricity consumption in Kazakhstan has risen significantly, prompting local authorities to propose limiting<\/a> the power usage of mining data centers in case of electricity shortages. <\/p>\n In November, Energy Minister Magzum Mirzagaliyev emphasized<\/a> that compliant mining farms would not be restricted.<\/p>\n
