{"id":53265,"date":"2021-11-22T10:41:18","date_gmt":"2021-11-22T08:41:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=53265"},"modified":"2025-09-03T14:21:51","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T11:21:51","slug":"senator-sees-defi-as-a-major-opportunity-for-australia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/senator-sees-defi-as-a-major-opportunity-for-australia\/","title":{"rendered":"Senator sees DeFi as a major opportunity for Australia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Decentralised finance (DeFi) affords Australia an excellent opportunity to cement its leadership in innovation and economic progress. <a href=\"https:\/\/ministers.treasury.gov.au\/ministers\/jane-hume-2020\/speeches\/address-australian-financial-review-super-wealth-summit-sydney\">said<\/a> Jane Hume, the Australian senator for Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>At the Australian Financial Review Super &amp; Wealth Summit, she noted that the DeFi sector will not disappear anytime soon, because it is &#8220;not a fad&#8221;.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Blockchain-powered decentralised finance will provide incredible opportunities. Australia should not be left behind because of fear of the unknown,&#8221; added Hume.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She said that the country\u2019s economic future will be defined by innovation and the adoption of new technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, New South Wales Senator Andrew Bragg <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/australia-to-regulate-the-cryptocurrency-industry\">expressed hope<\/a> for the approval of a plan regulating the cryptocurrency industry in 2022.
