The remark was made by its chief executive Changpeng Zhao in an interview with <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.lesechos.fr\/finance-marches\/marches-financiers\/binance-le-patron-de-la-plus-grande-plateforme-de-cryptos-mondiale-explique-sa-strategy-aux-echos-1362803\\\">Les Echos<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In November, the Bitcoin exchange and France FinTech <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/france-fintech-and-binance-announce-creation-of-eur100-million-crypto-and-blockchain-initiative-in-france-301415505.html\\\">launched<\/a> a \u20ac100 million initiative to support blockchain- and cryptocurrency-related projects in France. That reduces Ireland&#8217;s chances of being the country of registration for the headquarters, something Reuters previously <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/binance-ceo-says-ireland-is-part-its-hq-plans-2021-10-07\/\\\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p><em>France is the natural choice for a regional and possibly global headquarters. We want regulation to accelerate growth. Five per cent of the world&#8217;s population (400 million people) has already adopted cryptocurrencies. We need to persuade the remaining 95%. To do that, trust must be built \u2014 with contacts with local authorities and offices where clients can resolve problems,<\/em> <em>\u2014<\/em> said Zhao.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>According to him, 600 of Binance&#8217;s 3,500 employees are responsible for compliance.
