{"id":52539,"date":"2021-11-09T10:17:28","date_gmt":"2021-11-09T08:17:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=52539"},"modified":"2025-09-03T10:45:13","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T07:45:13","slug":"blockfi-files-for-launch-of-a-spot-bitcoin-etf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/blockfi-files-for-launch-of-a-spot-bitcoin-etf\/","title":{"rendered":"BlockFi files for launch of a spot Bitcoin ETF"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BlockFi, a crypto-lending platform, filed an <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/0001853419\/000092963821001329\/s1.htm\\\">application<\/a> with the <span data-descr=\\\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">SEC<\/span> to launch <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">Bitcoin ETF<\/a> with physical backing in accordance with the Securities Act of 1933.<\/p>\n<p>The document states that the dynamics of BlockFi NB <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">Bitcoin ETF<\/a> will better reflect the price movements of the leading cryptocurrency than any futures-based benchmark.<\/p>\n<p>By November 14, the SEC must issue a decision on VanEck&#8217;s application to launch a spot Bitcoin ETF. A second extension of its review period is not allowed. Bloomberg believes the firm will be denied, but the wording of the denial could shed light on the regulator&#8217;s views of the Bitcoin market.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"twitter-tweet\\\" data-conversation=\\\"none\\\">\n<p lang=\\\"en\\\" dir=\\\"ltr\\\">We fully expect a denial based on recent comments from SEC\/Gensler. Would be shocked if VanEck&#8217;s filing is approved (despite believing it *should* be approved).
