{"id":52440,"date":"2021-11-06T16:09:47","date_gmt":"2021-11-06T14:09:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=52440"},"modified":"2025-09-03T10:14:54","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T07:14:54","slug":"media-31-filecoin-miners-arrested-in-china-and-62-5-million-seized","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/media-31-filecoin-miners-arrested-in-china-and-62-5-million-seized\/","title":{"rendered":"Media: 31 Filecoin miners arrested in China and $62.5 million seized"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Chinese law enforcement officers in the Fuzhou district of Fujian province have arrested 31 employees of IPFS Union, a company involved in Filecoin (FIL) mining, according to Mo Li, marketing director at HashKey Hub, citing local media.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"twitter-tweet\\\">\n<p lang=\\\"en\\\" dir=\\\"ltr\\\">It got nothing to do with filecoin itself, one of its mining machine distributor got involved with pyramid scheme , so got ipfsunion in trouble<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Molly (@bigmagicdao) <a href=\\\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bigmagicdao\/status\/1456943837260107777?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\\\">November 6, 2021<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\\\"\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\\\" charset=\\\"utf-8\\\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The miners allegedly had assets seized totaling 400 million yuan (about $62.5 million at the time of writing) in Ethereum, USDT, Filecoin and other cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mo Li, the situation has nothing to do with IPFS Union or Filecoin.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cOne of the distributors of mining devices was linked to a pyramid scheme, which led to trouble for IPFS Union,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the wake of the arrests, the Filecoin price fell 8%, to $58.
