That\u2019s the equivalent of 14.4 TB size blocks every 10 min. In their view, this was driven by the addition to Twitter of the ability <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/lightning-network-node-count-climbs-23-after-twitter-launches-bitcoin-donations\">to accept cryptocurrency donations<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/el-salvador-legalises-bitcoin-as-government-buys-550-btc\">the legalization of Bitcoin in El Salvador<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Arcane Research analysts predicted that the number of active LN users by 2030 could <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/arcane-research-lightning-network-users-to-top-700-million-by-2030\">exceed 700 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As of writing, the number of nodes in the network had reached 17,797. Since the start of the year, the metric has risen by 115%.
