The International Chess Federation (FIDE) announced the launch of an NFT marketplace, ChessNFT, on the Free TON blockchain, according to a press release.<\/p>\n

The platform is due to be fully functional by the end of November. The project is being implemented in partnership with the company TON Labs, a member of the Free TON governing council.<\/p>\n

ChessNFT will digitise and gamify the ‘signature moments’ of matches. The platform will also offer chess-related art and collectibles.<\/p>\n

FIDE has begun an exciting and ambitious digitisation journey to bring a new experience and opportunities for chess players around the world. We are pleased to take the first step toward creating a comprehensive NFT marketplace just in time ahead of the world championship in Dubai in November, \u2014 Arkady Dvorkovich, the federation’s president and former deputy prime minister of the Russian Federation.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

FIDE chose the Free TON blockchain as the basis for the marketplace for its ‘ability to process transactions on a global level’.<\/p>\n

In October, the gallery in Saint Petersburg launched<\/a> an NFT platform on the Free TON blockchain. <\/p>\n

Earlier, the Free TON developers introduced<\/a> the True NFT technology.<\/p>\n
