Staff of the Saratov traffic police found a crypto mining farm in the department’s technical room after receiving a high electricity bill. The Telegram channel Baza reports.<\/p>\n
According to available data, the farm belonged to Captain Sergei Tokarev of the GIBDD and operated from December 2020 to July 2021.<\/p>\n
During the search, the inspectors found two ASIC miners, a Wi-Fi router and three power supplies. The preliminary loss from mining amounted to 231,000 rubles.<\/p>\n
An investigation has been opened against the captain for exceeding his official powers; investigators are identifying his possible accomplices. After questioning the suspect, he will be dismissed from the police.<\/p>\n
